Collaboration with Suricata Project | Open Information Security Foundation on Vectorscan

Vectorscan is a specialized solution for a very particular use-case of high performance regular expression matching. Not many require this kind of performance, but those who do, unquestionably need it!
One of the most prominent users of Vectorscan is Suricata of the Open Information Security Foundation. Suricata is the leading free and open source network analysis and threat detection software, far more than an IDS/IPS solution.

We at VectorCamp are delighted to announce our collaboration with OISF, with the goal of ensuring that the project stays alive and well-maintained, but at the same time improved and its functionality extended.
As a first task, we are about to complete full Windows support for the MSYS2 UCRT64 environment. Windows MSYS2 users will soon be able to use Vectorscan directly, as a first class citizen, in the next release 5.4.14.
Furthermore, Konstantinos Margaritis, lead developer of Vectorscan, will be at SuriCon, the event dedicated to Suricata, which will take place in Lisbon, Nov 18-20, to present the project and discuss the future road-map.
